Walking to a place
Unknown, unseen
It was a new creation to me
Cold winter night
I was in fright
No family or friends insight
Just me and my shadow,
walking alone, to a place
A place to get some space
Some space to keep the pace
The pace from the outside world
Leaving a world that is torn and broken
To step into a new light
So I might get some space of my own,
Separating from the temporary to get permanent,
Just in a place to escape the outside
You see, my day was long, and my night was cold,
But just as long as I remain bold,
My circumstance will become OLD
I'm going to lace up my boots and strive,
I'm a survivor, I am alive!
