~This time of the year~

It is something special about this time of the year. Summer is just around the corner and people are starting up the grill to BBQ. There are students graduating from college and high school, weddings, proposals, baby-showers, vacations, anniversaries, and much more. If you are celebrating something congratulations to you, if are planning a vacation have a blast. If you expecting a child, congrats on the new addition to your family. And if you're getting married double high five to you! If you serve or have served as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces quadruple high five to you! The pools are opening up, the beach is waiting for your footprints, and the world is waiting on your smile.

I hope everyone is having an amazing day, Happy Memorial Day!

~How to Get Out your own Way~

I decide to do a book review on Tyrese's book "How to get out your Own Way" If you read my previous post you will know why I purchased the book if you didn't read it click here. I got his book the Hard copy at Borden and Noble's at the mall last month, I read it in a week. I can say this book is really good I have recommended it to my co-workers, family, and friends. Some people even came up to me to ask what I was reading. When I told them they wrote the name down so they could purchase it for themselves.

I feel the title speaks for itself...have you ever though you were holding yourself back? If the answer to you question was "yes" you are absolutely right. I always say "The only person stopping you from being you is "YOU." You can not blame your family, the economy, your professor or your boss for your life. The only person that is you can blame is yourself, yes the person that is staring back at you in the mirror. Often times we block ourselves from the blessings God wants for us. We do it out of fear sometimes or other times out of ignorance because we don't know. So when you learn this and start blaming yourself you will see that things begin to unfold. You will really get an eye opening experience because you will realize the power lies within you.

In the book Tyrese tackles commitment to your goals, hustling, why cheaters cheat, the circle of five friends, how actions speak louder than words, finding your purpose and much more.

I am going to share a part of the book I like.

"You should expect a lot of people to say no. But don't get discouraged, because when one door closes it means that door wasn't for you, or that could mean that the timing for your idea wasn't right."

-Gibson, Tyrese. How To Get Out Your Own Way. 2011 (222)

~Love/Hate~

Written: July 29, 2007

I like you

I love you

I hate you

Love grows into hate wait

Until the day your mate lies

Tries to convenience you with alibi s

You will be out the window trying to commit suicide

I like you

I love you

I hate you

I can not explain why love turn into hate

You think they are real when they are fake

They trick your mind into taking the bait

I tell them wait until your day comes

I like you

I love you

I hate you

Love plays with your mind

It almost like your fine until it turns blind

You have to take plenty sips of wine

To make the love hate thing unwind

I hate you

But some how

I love you

~Car Maintenance is just like Human Maintenance~

I believe the same way you have to maintenance your car you have to do the same for your life. Just think about how many things your car needs and think how they coincide with your life. Let me elaborate on this subject with a list of things a car needs.
Ladies and gentlemen get ready to start your engine.

  • Gas-Gas keeps you going. Ask yourself what motivates you? Whatever your answer is that is your gas. Examples of gas could be your family, kids, money, passion, God, success, ideas, goals, purpose, friends, and/or a visualized outcome. Now everybody know that without gas in your car don't plan on a trip. The same thing goes for your life you need gas to fuel your dreams.
  • Oil Change-I know you are thinking how can you connect an oil change with life. Think of the second word change, what is life without change? If you did not change anything in your life you wouldn't be alive; change makes the world go around. Remember water and oil do not mix so when I say oil change think of how the two do not mix. What's in your life that is not mixing? Who's in your life that isn't mixing with you? Where is all that unnecessary mixing coming from? When is it time for you to stop mixing two things that don't belong? See now you understand why you need an oil change. To rid yourself of the people, situations, negativity, and an atmosphere that is not serving you. If you drive a car without getting an oil change your engine will blow. Don't take the change of letting yourself blow, get your live in order.
  • Tune-Up- A tune up makes your car run smoother, start easier, and save fuel. There will come a time when you will feel unmotivated and feel like quitting. That is when you will need a tune-up for your life. The best way to tune -up your life is by having a vision/dream. If you're able to visualize what you need you will keep on striving. You have to be so clear with your vision, I mean crystal clear. Start with making a vision board, and look at the vision board when you need a personal tune-up.

~Fear~ (Trapped)

Scared to let you go
I would feel so lonely inside
so I let my emotions know
I am a woman with no pride

The first time you punched me in the face
it was like a horror movie I couldn't erase
I tired to duck but you kept the pace
I felt like McCain in the "08" race

I told my family, told my friends
all they can say is he is back at it again

Well this is the last tear
because I refuse to live in fear

~Happy Appreciation Day~

Appreciation Day is a day that my family celebrates the people who are important to us in our life. My grandmother went to heaven on this very day several years ago. So instead of thinking of this day as a lost we are actually gaining something. We are gaining strength, courage, love, and respect for family. My grandmother is the only woman I know who only had an 8th grade education and was a hustler out of this world. She used her talents to make money she was an artist, seamstress, cook, entrepreneur, Evangelist, child care provider, and a single mother of six. Go grandmother, she still has the ability to make me want to be the best I can be. Today, I ask you to take sometime out and appreciation the people you love. And maybe you will adopt an Appreciate Day in your family too!

I must say I appreciate you because you take time out of your day to read my blog. Thank you

~In the Mist of Rain there is a Rainbow~

A couple of days ago I was not having such a good day. I went to the gym to work-out with an excruciating headache. The weather consisted of rain in the forecast for the past couple of weeks. And on top of that detailing with family problems and other personal issues. I was was at the point that I wanted to SCREAM. I left the gym feeling so unmotivated although I write about motivation... how ironic. I drove in the pouring rain to Taco Bell's driver thru, and that is when I seen it. What did I see you ask? I saw the most beautiful rainbow piercing in the sky. All I could think of was "in the mist of the rain there was a rainbow."

After I got my food I looked back in the sky again only to see the rainbow had departed from me. I wanted to take a picture of it, but God placed it there for me to take a mental picture of it. He wanted me to share this story with you so you can see the bright side of things too. The rainbow is God's promise to us to never flood the earth to destroy it (Genesis 9:16). If God can make that promise to us then we can make that same promise to ourselves.

Today promise not to destroy your life with disappointments and rainy days. Although, I am still going through the storm I have faith I will concur it in due time. Remember my rainbow story when you are going through a storm, and hopefully it will make you smile!
